海外出張や赴任にはリスクが伴う。個人の努力だけでは防ぐ事のできないリスクもあるが、個人でも最大限の注意を払うべきである。現地の人でさえも躊躇するフィリピンの最貧地区に行ってしまう日本人。スリに掏ってくださいと言わんばかりにジーンズのおしりのポケットに財布を入れた日本人など平和ボケの日本人が散見される。最近では、危険地域からレポートする動画も散見される。個人が注意を払うべき安全に関わる項目を以下にまとめてみた。出発準備の一環として、治安情報サイト、外務省やJETROのホームページなども活用して研究すること。少なくとも知らない土地での夜の歩行・タクシーでの移動は避ける、宿泊先は治安の良い場所にする、訪問先近郊の治安情報を確認する、は最低限必要だ。・犯罪・テロ・政情不安（殺人、強盗、強姦、住居侵入、窃盗、売買春...訪問先の国に迷惑をかけないように！

元日本IBM社長椎名武雄（しいな・たけお）さんが19日に亡くなった。1975年に45歳で日本IBM社長に就任。70年代、通産省（現経済産業省）の保護政策で力を付けた富士通、NEC、日立など国内メーカーに対抗し、日本IBM独自の販売・開発体制を敷き「日本化路線」で対抗した。87年に売上高一兆円を達成し、89年には初めて、米IBM副社長に就任した。私が日本IBMに入社したのは1977年。六本木に本社を構えてはいたが、新規採用の決定権がなく、米国IBMの承認待ちの状態が続き、採用が決まるまでいらいらした記憶がある。椎名さんの言葉で一番、思い出に残っているのは、「SellIBMinJapan.SellJapaninIBM.」。外資系にいる方なら心に響くのではないだろうか。日本政府の保護政策の中で、富士通等にどう対...日本を代表するグローバルリーダーが亡くなられた。

カナダ旅行反省会 - 海外出張・旅行の参考まで

本年7月6日から7月19日の間、個人旅行でカナダに行ってきました。日本の水際対策が緩和されていない時期であったため、カナダへの入国手続きの準備、帰国時の現地でのPCR検査の予約・実施など、事前の調査・準備に時間を要しました。また、現地でこちらのリクエスト通りにPCR検査が実施され、日本政府指定の書類で陰性証明書が発行されるか、人手不足の空港でちゃんと荷物が届くか、などの心配事やストレスの多い旅でした。コロナ絡みを除いても、今後の旅行に向けて考慮しなければならない点がいくつかありましたので整理しておきます。1．物価米国・カナダは、日本よりも給与が高い分、物価も高い。それに加えて円安・・・・・・まず、食事。最近TVでも報じられているようにラーメンの値段が日本の3倍。ラーメンでなくともファスト・フードも15ドル...カナダ旅行反省会-海外出張・旅行の参考まで
